However the few of us that always feel out of place, not quite fitting in its internalized. It’s not the reflection we give. People’s perception is based on what they see on the outside!

It’s too bad, for them !

Some people think they are the person they appear to be I beg to differ, change something in their life that’s monumental and watch them become who they are.

We carry baggage, we are on Social Media sucking in tons of negativity daily, make it positive………. Drop the bags, delete the negative press, learn to recieve love and money and start making the small changes that will bring you joy.

I have been wanting to speak publicly for decades and never took the steps that it requires to do so.

Until now ! Age 47 and perhaps age and fear have something to do with it, however timing is everything !

My time is now and I am going to utilize my natural ability to speak and explain things in a fashion where everyone can understand.

I’m now going to apply my “righteousness” as those in my past would refer to it !

I am very direct firm and honest almost transparent in a physical sense not just a moral sense. I have always been this way . Are you ?

Look out I’m going to make a big splash ….

As many New Yorkers I woke this morning to find a wintry wonderland outside my door.

I love the snow when it first falls, prior to the plows and salt and shoveling. It looks so clean so pristine its picture perfect. The part I do not like is the dog poo and pee , the dirt that kicks up from cars, the exhaust from vehicles, makes it all look terrible.

In New York you learn to live with things that come and go, from good friends moving, to shops closing, old homes knocked down and turned into towers, neighbors faces change, and a whole new look and feel comes upon us just like when the snow first falls and once the snow changes.

We learn to adjust and go with the flow. That’s how we roll. 

Unfortunately at times it feels that NY is no longer NY, the character of the people make the city, the flexibility of the people make the town, the caring and manners make the block. True New Yorkers know how to be neighborly therefore we welcome change, embrace new faces and go with the flow.

We hope that our new comers will respect us, and be neighborly not just “the folks next door”.

So keeping that in mind on this wintry day, remember the “neighbor” who may need help shoveling and show your true NY spirit !

Many people ask themselves and me this very question, Why Brooklyn ?

There are many reasons people choose to live in Brooklyn, and although the boundaries are spreading it was once only the Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, and Carroll Gardens area that people referred to as “Brooklyn”.

Park Slope was already in the mix…

Through time Boerum Hill was added to the list and Red Hook.

Now in about 8 short years we have encompassed Crown Heights, Prospect Heights, Bed- Stuy, Clinton Hill , Dumbo, Vinegar Hill , Sunset Park and Greenwood Heights.

When people say “Brooklyn” they are, for the most part referring to these areas.

As time progresses BayRidge is becoming more attractive despite the longer commute, it’s residential tree lined streets, schools and amenities is quite the draw, we are now seeing areas like Marine Park, Gravesend, Midwood and the likes in the papers and spoken about…

Brooklyn offers a vast amount of amenities, you can choose from any of these neighborhoods listed above and find diversity, shopping, subway, nightlife, dining and easy access to the stadium for concerts and games.

Brooklyn has years ahead of it to continue to morph into a new city, it’s not quite there but well on its way. For the newcomers they choose it for its character and mom and pop shops, the old flavor of east village ( which no longer exists) but they don’t realize that upon their arrival less and less of the old flavor exists, and they bring with them a new culture.

This culture is what’s changing Brooklyn’s old flavor and feel, just like the East Village, Soho and Tribecca.

Some love the new and old timers hate it. 

Why Brooklyn ? For the moment it’s for the convenience to city, the architecture, the dining, the nightlife and some come for the schools.

Also for value, despite the 3M Dollar price tag where can you buy a townhouse in Manhattan for 3M Dollars? You can’t ! And therefore Brooklyn will continue to morph it’s way into city hood ! Let’s resume …

The vibe, the old culture, the Brooklyn Nets Stadium, the waterways being developed into green ways, the communal gardens as well as the easy access to Manhattan via car/bike or feet the old “Flintstones” way.

So with that in mind I want you to remember Why Brooklyn? And …

It never fails , when the news reports show that the weather patterns reflect rain people grunt, grumble, moan and ask why ?

So why do people respond negatively to rain when rain has so many positive contributions to earth ?

People are thinking only about themselves that’s why. My hair is going to come out bad, my shoes get wet, my clothes get wet, it’s dreary out, makes me sad, you need to carry an umbrella and rain gear, delays happen, people can’t drive , traffic increases all these reasons are self centered.

Rain, is only water. This water allows for the streets to clean up, the buildings to clean up and more importantly feeds farms and flowers and allows for things to grow . Trees need water and guess what we need trees!

So next time when it rains, think of planet earth and the good effect of rain onto it, then remember this is where we live and so if we get wet in the interim it’s for a greater cause!

Rain doesn’t bother me, I like to worry and rant about other things. Rain also keeps people indoors and away from open houses , it should not ! Drag your boots and umbrellas and get out there and don’t let a few drops of water stop you from doing what you like to do !

I hear this all the time ! I generally say as long as you are not in the peak of a market then buy !

Real Estate for most part is a long term investment, however if you are in it for short term be careful not to fall in the high point of the cycle, if you do and it drops guess what ? 

You lose money ! Even if the market comes back , guess what ? You break even, now if you have to sell somewhere in the middle then you can get caught in a bad situation and lose money.

Flippers are very careful about acquisition cost and almost never buy in the peak of a bubble, they might buy on the way up but flip before the down cycle.

They also buy distress , they pay cash and they are very aggressive ! 

If you are looking for a home, be careful and wise it’s a huge sum of money , the commitment is long and unless you plan to stay a while do not over pay! 

A lot of buyers in Brooklyn are paying tomorrow’s pricing today partly do to the hype and the past escalation, however we are seeing an adjustment ! 

Should they have to re sell while the market levels out or drops they will lose money! This happens in Real Estate! 

Real Estate is like a solid fortunes 500 company or bonds or a dividend paying stock .

You buy in ( it’s costly) but if you buy a 2 family home the 2nd unit is bringing in money look at that as a dividend, if you buy on the way up your capital will increase this is your equity ! 

If you buy on the way up in a solid area the short term fluctuations will not affect you long term.

If you buy penny stocks, similar to an inflated market it’s risky – right ? 

There are so many variables in Real Estate – it’s like all other investment vehicles – drive with caution ! 

Make wise choices and buy during the right cycles ! 

Renting is yesterday’s news with rates this low buy now I remember when interest rates were 13pct and up. Imagine that rate on a 4m dollar house LOL…

Hello and welcome to my blog site today I decided to write about things that make (us ) New Yorkers tick .

Well I’m sure I can come up with more than ten but let’s focus on these for a minute !

1-when people cross street behind you , while you are reversing into a parking space.

2-when pedestrians think they are cars and look at the traffic light and not the crosswalk pedestrian light.

3-when cyclists think they always have the right of way even when they are going the wrong way.

4-when we see people push their baby strollers into traffic against the light just to cross a minute sooner.

5-when an out of state driver screws up the flow on a highway.

6-when people stand in the street to look for the bus , trust me you will know when it arrives !

7-when drivers do not move for emergency vehicles ! Wtf is up with that, scared of taking a red light ? Move it .. What if that was you in back croaking and some schmuck doesn’t wanna clear the path ?

8-The new 25 mph zone ? Really ? You can’t get anywhere at 25 mph .. That’s why cars were invented or we would all be on horses HELLO! Vision zero my @:&:)/(;& it’s just a money generating… Speed does kil but there has to be a happy medium ! 

9-the streets the streets and the streets suck with all the tax’s we pay to live in this pressure cooker the least thing you can deliver is smooth streets and well maintained curbs !

10-dogs gotta love me but take the crap with you! I know u r not from NY when you drop your dog crap on someone else’s stoop or prefer to just not pick it up ! We true New Yorkers lived through the late 70s when dog poop was everywhere that’s why we have the pooper scooper law all you dog lovers need to clean your poop up and take it with you if you can’t find a trash bin ! 

Like I said this rant can go for days but whether I’m driving or walking it never fails you can always spot the sightseeing folks, or the entitled that are exempt from the way we live , the narcissistic that believe they are above all and know it all thanks to google , these are the things that become annoying.

New Yorkers are true , real and say it like it is people so take the being politically correct back to where the cows graze, her in the city you need to keep it real ! And respect thy neighbor. 

After all we are here in this pressure cooker because we like the hustle and bustle , we like the diversity (except for the phony people who act like they like diversity but are not truly diverse lol) you all know who you are …
